This is a red tea that originates from the city of Chi Meng, in the An Hui Province of China. It is a well-known and famous Chinese red tea, believed by some experts to have been mentioned in the Lu Yu Tea Canon. Tea production in the vicinity of several cities in An Hui Province began during the Qing Dynasty under Emperor Guan Xiu, and Chi Meng has become the most famous of them, lending its name to the tea. Known as Chi Hong-reduced Red Tea from Chi Meng, it is one of China’s ten famous teas. In the West, it is commonly referred to as Kimun tea, which along with Yan Xun Xiao Jun, was supplied to the court of the English queen. The tea is characterized by its fragrant and sweet aroma, voluminous body, and a rich and long-lasting aftertaste, along with a unique and distinct pattern.
