Da Hu Ya

The tea’s name, Big Tiger Buds, refers to its unique composition of buds from large trees, which gives it a desirable oiliness and soft yet powerful strength. However, this type of pu-erh is becoming increasingly rare due to the high risk of losing the highest quality leaves during processing. After much searching, we were able to obtain similar raw materials from friends at a factory near the city of Lin Tsan, and we had these cakes pressed to our specifications. The cakes are loosely compressed, making them an easy choice for those who prefer not to spend a lot of time breaking apart their tea. While the tea is still young, it shows great potential for aging, with its vitality suggesting that in five years the bitterness will give way to a soft, dry sweetness.
