Peasant old tea is a type of tea that is sometimes made in the homes of local farmers for personal use and can be stored for years. Over time, the tea changes and becomes a cure for locals to save themselves from colds caused by moisture. It is specially fried on coals, which expels moisture and keeps the fire chi. Unlike tea produced by tea growers, the raw materials for peasant old tea are quite simple and not sorted. It contains several varieties of tea grown in Gan De, including Tie Guan Yin, Mao Xie, Beng Shan, and Huang Jin Gui. Since the quantity in one farm is not large, and not everyone has equipment in their homes, the tea is mainly made by hand. It has an astringent sweet taste and a deep fluffy state. This tea is young, from 2016, and has yet to gain the taste of medicine appreciated by connoisseurs of old tea, but it has its own charm.
